A man has died after being hit by a car close to the Erskine Bridge.
Emergency services were called to the incident along the A82 westbound in Duntocher at 5.05pm this evening.
The 34-year-old pedestrian was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver of the car was uninjured.
A 40-year-old man been arrested in connection with road traffic offences.
A police investigation has now been launched as the force appeals to the public for information surrounding the incident, including dash-cam footage from vehicles that may have been in the area at the time.
Sergeant Paul MacPherson said: “An investigation is under way to establish the circumstances of this incident and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time it occurred to contact us.
"In particular, if you have a dash cam, please check your footage as it could hold images which could assist us in our investigation.”
