A LARGE number of streets in the East End will be closed to make the area a new "low traffic neighbourhood".
In plans unveiled today, a number of Dennistoun streets will be closed to cars for a minimum period of 10 weeks with work due to start next week.
The council hopes the closures will allow for residents to socially distance in the area's desirable tenement streets and make walking and cycling more attractive.

Cyclists will be allowed on a number of streets cars are to be banned from, while one way systems will be put in place to limit the number off cars in the area.
One road, Ark Lane at its junction with Brookpark Drive will be closed entirely.
In a statement, the council said it hopes to encourage walking and cycling by limiting the numbers of cars passing through the area.
Works are expected to begin on Tuesday, December 8 and completed the project by Tuesday, December 22.
