A VILE sex beast who raped three woman and threatened to rape a fourth has been given a life sentence.
Craig Gallacher or McGlynn, 36, was assessed as posing a danger to danger to women by judge Lady Poole.
Gallacher was convicted at the High Court in Glasgow of the rapes and also violence against four women.
The offences were committed at various addresses in Grangemouth, Falkirk and Glasgow between July 2009 and August 2018.
Lady Poole jailed Gallacher on Monday for at least five years and four months and placed him on an Order for Lifelong Restriction (OLR) – the equivalent of a life sentence.
She told him: “You were convicted of 13 offences against five different women. You carried out these despicable acts. Your victims who were all vulnerable and you abused them.
“You have shown no remorse. Your record is appalling and included eight previous convictions for violence. The public must be protected from you, particularly women.
“You will only be released if the parole board can be satisfied of public safety. You are likely to remain in prison for many years.”
Gallacher subjected one of his rape victims to a brutal assault calling her names, compressing her neck, hitting her, striking her head against a cupboard door.
He also dragged her out onto a veranda then locked the door and prevented her from leaving.
A second rape victim was also called derogatory names, threatened with a knife, repeatedly punched and compelled to drink alcohol while pregnant.
Gallacher pounced on a third victim while she was asleep. He wakened her and then raped her.
He threatened to rape another victim after shouting and swearing at her.
Gallacher sexually assaulted his fifth victim and repeatedly struck her head against the ground and the floor and compressed her neck.
Solicitor advocate Krista Johnston, defending Gallacher, said that he continues to deny the offences.
Gallacher showed no emotion as he was led away to begin his sentence.
He was placed on the sex offenders’ register.
