SHE is one of the best known voices in Glasgow but now Cassi G's talents have taken her to the top of the music charts.

The Clyde 1 star has fought off pop royalty and raised thousands for charity to jump to number one on iTunes with her remix of Beautiful Sunday, commonly known as the Slosh song.

The single, called Slosh'd, was released to coin in money for Cash for Kids and is currently keeping the likes of Mariah Carey and Liam Gallagher off top spot.

And Cassi's Clyde 1 colleague George Bowie has been among those to share his delight at the news, writing: "Cannot believe Cassi is number 1 in the UK chart.

"It's all for Cash For Kids so thank you all so much."

Cassi, whose real name is Cassi Gillespie, wrote: "Me in bed right now thinking about being at number 1 and if we still had Top of the Pops...I could be performing on some decks that weren’t plugged in."

Lord Provost of Glasgow, Phillip Braat, joined in the messages, writing: "Congratulations to Cassi for being Number 1 in the UK Charts!
