A 25-year-old man admitted having underage sex with a vulnerable 15-year-old girl in his car.

Jordan Murdoch, 25, committed the offence in the Glasgow area between February and March 2019.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard the pair and a mutual friend went on a drive earlier that day.

Murdoch and the girl were aware of each other’s ages at the time.

The friend was dropped off before Murdoch and the girl went on a further drive by themselves.

Prosecutor Lauren McRobert said: “The location was in the Glasgow area where they parked and had consensual sex.

“During this time the girl had taken a picture of the accused and she sent it to one of her friends.”

The girl’s mother found out about this and called the police.

The girl was quizzed by police and told them that the sex was consensual while Murdoch gave a no comment interview.

Sheriff Paul Crozier asked if the girl was vulnerable and Miss McRobert replied: “Yes”.

Murdoch pleaded guilty on Tuesday to having underage sex.

Lawyer, Gerry Devanney, defending, will make his plea in mitigation at next month’s sentencing.

Murdoch, of Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, was put on the sex offenders register and bailed meantime.
