CLOUDS of green were seen at Hampden Park this afternoon as Hoops fans gathered to welcome their team bus ahead of the Scottish Cup Final, despite lockdown rules.

In a spin of events, Celtic supporters congregated at the South Side stadium with smoke bombs and flares to show support for the Parkhead club ahead of its fixture with Hearts at 2.15pm.

For the past three weekends, supporters had been turning up outside Celtic Park in their calls for the departure of club manager Neil Lennon.

But now, with the quadruple Treble at stake, they put aside their frustrations for the big game to provide the players and management staff with support.

Signs reading "Good luck Bhoys" were held by fan groups at the Mount Florida venue.

One fan said: "Lennon has done a lot for the club and he doesn't need to leave.

"We're here today to show our bhoys some support and boost morale. It's needed after the past few weekends."

Mounted police, riot vans and patrol officers were drafted to the scene of the demonstration.

The Glasgow Times understands barriers have been installed at Celtic Park to keep out any protesters should there be a loss for the Parkhead club.

Police Scotland had previously warned fans not to congregate at the South Side stadium grounds in respect of social distancing.

Superintendent Stevie Dolan, Greater Glasgow Division, said: "An appropriate policing plan will be in place. The Scottish Government strongly advise against gatherings in areas under level three restrictions.

"We would urge people to follow this guidance to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

"The Chief Constable has been very clear that we are asking people to take personal responsibility to do the right thing and remember the purpose of these measures is to aid the collective effort to protect the NHS and save lives by preventing the virus from spreading.

"Our response will be measured and proportionate but we will use enforcement where required."
