Large social gatherings are prohibited under level four coronavirus restrictions and could be seen as a breach of the guidance.
Glasgow entered the tightest level of restrictions on Boxing Day, alongside the rest of mainland Scotland, to limit the spread of a new Covid-19 variant.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 5.10pm on Saturday, 2 January, we received a report of a large gathering with fireworks and flares being set off on Edmiston Drive in Glasgow.
“Officers attended and carried out a search of the area but the group had dispersed.”
