RANGERS have completed a pre-contract deal for Bournemouth defender Jack Simpson.
The 24-year-old will make the switch to Ibrox at the end of the campaign as boss Steven Gerrard bolsters his squad for a crack at the Champions League next term.
Gerrard has been a long-time admirer of Simpson and Rangers have beaten Cardiff City to the signing of the stopper to further strengthen the defensive options at Gerrard's disposal.
Rangers have already secured the services of Aberdeen forward Scott Wright ahead of the new campaign and could yet make a move to bring him to Ibrox before the close of business on Monday.
And the Light Blues are also poised to confirm a deal for Simpson's Cherries team-mate Nnamdi Ofoborh as the midfielder gets set to follow him to Ibrox next term.
