Boris Johnson has met troops who are working to build a coronavirus vaccination centre in Castlemilk.
The Prime Minister has been pictured 'elbowing' the soldiers upon his visit.
Earlier, Johnson was guided by staff at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital as he toured the Lighthouse Laboratory, which is used to process coronavirus home-testing kits.
He is also expected to visit Edinburgh as part of his Scotland visit.
Reports have suggested Johnson's trip is to help “save the Union” by persuading frontline and key workers there are great benefits of co-operating across the whole of the UK to beat the coronavirus pandemic.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon earlier questioned the need for the visit, dubbing it as not “essential”.
A spokeswoman for the Prime Minister said: “It remains the fact that it is a fundamental role of the Prime Minister to be the physical representative of the UK Government, and it’s right he’s visible and accessible to businesses and communities across all parts of the UK - especially during the pandemic.”
A briefing will be held with the Prime Minister in Glasgow today at 3pm.
