A ROMANIAN rescue dog was mauled to death by another dog who was roaming free in Hamilton.
Foxy's owner has been left traumatised following the attack last week at the Jock Stein football pitches.
Her other dog suffered a broken leg and a bite after the "large, dark coloured, Bull breed" attacked.
The dog was off the lead and there was no owner in sight.
Ruff Start Rescue CIC saved Foxy from a "kill list" in Romania and brought her to Scotland where she was adopted.
The charity said: "It’s just so sad. Foxy survived the kill list only to suffer this way.
"We need to warn people in the local area. We cannot allow this to happen to any other dog or a child.

"We are so thankful that the owner's young son was not with her at the time.
"Please share to raise awareness which will hopefully lead to information as to who is the highly irresponsible owner of this dog.
"As you can imagine, Foxy's owner is completely devastated and traumatised by what has happened. We will do all we can to support her.
"We have informed Foxy's rescuer of this terrible news and she is very upset.
"Sleep tight darling Foxy. You were loved beyond measure."
