A search operation has been launched for a missing man of almost eight days. 

Jamie Waugh was last seen by friends at 4.30am on Sunday, January 31. 

He had been leaving an address in Glen Avenue in Larkhall with the intention to attend another address. 

Family and friends say they have not seen Jamie since, and are concerned for his wellbeing. 

Extensive inquiries are underway to trace his whereabouts with police appealing to the public for any information.

James is described as being 5ft 11 inces tall, with brown receding hair, blue eyes and facial hair. 

When he was last seen, he was wearing a black t-shirt, a navy blue zipper, black Adidas shorts and grey trainers. 

He may also be in possession of dark coloured tracksuit bottoms. Jamie has a tattoo on his right arm with the letters 'JAMIE' and a skull roses tattoo on his left arm.

Police say Jamie has links to both the Larkhall and Blanture areas. 

Sergeant Audrey Peat, said: "It is out of character for Jamie not to be in touch with friends or family for this length of time. They are extremely concerned about him and just want to know he is safe".

If anyone has seen Jamie or has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts, please contact Police as a matter of urgency.
