A GLASGOW man has been left with no work after a heartless thief stole his car during a delivery shift.

The South Side resident was delivering food for Just Eat on Tuesday night when someone made off with the red Seat in Jordanhill.

The 26-year-old said: "My car was outside the drive and I went to deliver the food.

Glasgow Times:

"Usually I've been leaving the food at the doorsteps due to coronavirus, but on this occasion the customer had a baby in her arms so I offered to leave the food in the hall and she thanked me for doing so.

"I walked back out and my car was not in sight so I called the police and got told they were on their way.

"The customer offered to show me the CCTV from outside her house. The person just ran down the street, seen my car and simply took off with it."

The delivery driver has now been left unable to work and will have to claim his insurance.

He added: "This will be another bill during these weird times."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We were made aware of a Seat Ibiza car stolen on Abbey Drive in Glasgow around 6.20pm on Tuesday, 9 February.

"The car remains outstanding and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone who may have information can call 101, quoting incident 2706 of February 9."
