Three areas in Glasgow have recorded the lowest level of new positive coronavirus cases for the fourth week in a row.

The number of areas in the lowest category, where there were between zero and two cases, and the virus is considered suppressed during that time, increased again in the city from 17 last week to 22, shown as white on the map. Three weeks ago there were just eight.

Those areas are Anderston, Anniesland East, Baillieston West, Carmunnock North, Carmyle and Mount Vernon South, City Centre West, Craigton, Crookston North, Drumry West, Glasgow Harbour and Partick South, Knightswood Park West, Langside, Mount Vernon North and Sandyhills, North Kelvin, Partick, Partickhill and Hyndland, Shawlands West, Sighthill, Springburn, Victoria Park, Whiteinch and Woodlands.

In three of those areas the number has been between zero and 2 for the last four weeks.

The lowest category has been applied to North Kelvin, Sighthill and Victoria Park for the last four weeks going back to the week between January 15th and 22nd.

There were another 30 which were in the second lowest category of between 50 and 99 cases per 100,000 population, shown as the lighter grey on the map.

They included from Barmulloch, with 3 new cases, Kelvindale, with 6, Greenfield, with 5, Gorbals and Hutchesontown with 6, and Milton East with 3 all between 90 and 99.

The lower end included Kelvinside and Jordanhill, with 3 cases, Castlemilk, with 3, Kelvingrove and University with 4, Gallowgate North with 4 and Pollok South and West with 4, all under 60 per 100,000 population.
