A WOMAN who carried out an attack after a funeral service has avoided jail.
Callan Wilson, 27, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
She previously pleaded guilty to punching a woman on the head, knocking her to the floor, and kicking her on the head at a property in Langlands Road, Govan.
The procurator fiscal depute told the court: “Three people and the accused attended a funeral. At 1pm they attended at the home address of one of the others.
"They engaged in drinking and socialising. One of them got into a heated argument with the accused. She was asked to leave the property and wasn’t happy about this. She became physical.
“Witnesses tried to separate the two of them and this was achieved.
“The accused left the property and police were contacted. The person attacked suffered injuries to her face, her hair was pulled from her head, and she had tissue damage to her finger.
“She attended at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but said the waiting time was too long so left the hospital.”
Wilson, of Saltcoats, became violent with the woman on October 11, 2019.
Her solicitor explained that it was her father’s funeral.
He added: “Violence was initiated by the complainer who kicked the accused whilst she was sitting down. Ms Wilson accepted her reaction to that has gone beyond what is recognised under the law in terms of this assault.
“Emotions were clearly running high due to the nature of the day. Her actions were reactionary.”
Sheriff Barry Divers made Wilson subject to a restriction of liberty order which requires her to remain within her home address between 7pm-7am for 48 days.
