James McFadden believes Rangers' players should not have celebrated with their fans after yesterday's victory over St Mirren.
Thousands of Light Blues supporters gathered at Ibrox as Steven Gerrard's team closed in on their 55th league title.
Following the full-time whistle Gers' stars went up to the corner gates and applauded their fans. But Scotland legend McFadden, who is now a pundit on Sky Sports, reckons it was a bad move.
He said: "The players are emotional because they think that they are over the line, in all but a couple of games to go, but you’d rather not see it.
"You’d rather the players stuck to the protocols and go up the tunnel, but I can see why they went to celebrate.
"I don’t think the fans should be outside the stadium, but they are, the players are aware of that and they wanted to go and celebrate with the fans but for me they should have gone up the tunnel and waited for a later date to celebrate in the correct manner."
