A MAN was attacked by a brutal thug with a blade, leaving him with serious injuries.
The 30-year-old was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to his injuries after he was assaulted yesterday night.
The attacker struck in Greenhill Road, Rutherglen and ran off in the direction of Mill Street.

Police are investigating the attack and urge any witnesses to come forward.
Detective Constable Jennifer Thirtle of Cambuslang Police Station said: "Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we would urge anyone who may have seen or heard a disturbance around 9pm on Tuesday evening to get in touch.
"In addition, we would be keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anybody acting suspiciously or loitering in the area around Greenhill Road before the incident took place.
"Any information can be passed on by calling 101, quoting 3123 of 9 March, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
