THREE men have been arrested in connection with an alleged late-night rammy in a Lanarkshire street. 

The trio is said to have been involved in a disturbance in Wishaw on Monday which saw officers break-up a fight involving knives and metal poles. 

Police rushed to Gateside Road, in the Craigneuk area, at around 11.30pm and the men, aged 28, 29, and 32, were arrested in connection with the incident.

A further man, 29, was also arrested in connection with the illegal use of a quad bike on the street.

Cops have now promised to ramp up patrols in the area and say they will deal with anti-social behaviour "robustly". 

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "At 11.30pm on Monday, March 8, police responded to an ongoing disturbance on the street at Gateside Road, Craigneuk involving males with knives and metal poles.

"Police attended and through investigation arrested three males, aged 28, 32 and 29 years old.

"Police also arrested a 29 year old male for Illegal use of a quad on Gateside Road and his quad was seized.

"Over the next few weeks there will be increased visibility by police in Craigneuk and those conducting themselves in an anti-social manner will be dealt with robustly."
