AN attempted murder probe has been launched after a man was mowed down in the middle of a Royston street.
The 29-year-old was rushed to the Royal Infirmary following the incident at the junction of Hollybank Street and Kintyre Street on Monday.
He was hit by a car at around 6.25pm, which then fled towards Royston Road. The victim's condition is described as serious by medics.

Officers believe the man was deliberately struck by the vehicle and are treating the incident as attempted murder.
Detective Sergeant Stephen Palmer, of Maryhill Police Station, said: "Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

"We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage or private CCTV from the area to get in touch."
