GLASWEGIANS are showing off their top talents as part of our brand new Times Talent competition.
The contest, supported by food ordering company Foodhub, will see one lucky city resident walk away with a £1000 prize.
Abbie Conaghan is one entrant hoping to take the top spot.
The eight-year-old has been ice skating for the past two and a half years, with mum, Stacey, entering Abbie into Times Talent after her very first competition was cancelled due to lockdown.

Abbie, from Coatbridge, said: “My favourite thing is doing all of the spins and jumps. I was supposed to be dancing to the Little Mermaid in my first competition and it was going to be amazing but I was so sad when I couldn’t do the competition.”
Stacey said: “It was horrible, she was one week away from her first contest last March when lockdown began.
“I entered Abbie into Times Talent to give her the recognition she deserves. She works so hard at her ice-skating. I think it’s important for kids to be celebrated because it has been a tough year on them.”
Abbie, who joined the North Lanarkshire Figure Skating Club when she was six, has been able to keep up with her skills during lockdown with specialist equipment and Zoom training.

While lockdown keeps her at home, Abbie has set her sights on something slightly bigger in the future.
She said: “Torvill and Dean are my favourites to watch. It would be my dream to be on Dancing on Ice one day.”
