A MAN who was allegedly found to be in posession of a weapon in public has been arrested.
Police were called to Canniesburn Toll in Bearsden yesterday afternoon.
Residents reported a large police presence at the scene, including officers searching the woods.
Six police vehicles were seen at Canniesburn Road and Maxwell Avenue.
The 43-year-old, who was reportedly carrying the weapon, was traced and arrested at around 2.15pm.
He will appear in court.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a man believed to be in possession of a weapon in the area of Canniesburn Toll at around 2.15pm on Sunday, April 18.
"Officers attended and the 43-year-old man was traced and arrested in connection with the matter.
"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.”
