A MAN and a woman were in hospital after a brutal attack near a Glasgow canal path.
The 30-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were treated for serious injuries to their heads and backs after the assault on Saturday evening.
Cops said there were groups of youths in the area who may have witnessed the incident, which happened in a grassy area in Blairdardie Road, close to the canal path.

There was also a group of people who made off in the direction of the canal path and Garscadden Road, who may have been involved.
Detective Constable James McLelland said: “There were groups of youths around at the time of this serious assault and I am appealing to anyone who has not yet spoken to us to get in touch.
“In particular we are looking to speak to people seen moving off towards the canal path and towards Garscadden Road.
“If you can assist with our enquiries please contact please Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2944 of Saturday, April 17, 2021, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
