MARTIN COMPSTON has warned this could be the last ever season of Line Of Duty as he revealed he doesn't know if the show will go on.
The actor - who plays the show's DI Steve Arnott - said those involved in the beloved BBC cop drama felt wrapping up on a high after 10 years on our screens "might be the perfect ending".

Martin told podcast Shrine Of Duty: "It's different elements this year because we have to look at it in terms of, do people want us back? You don't want to overdo it.
"Ten years in you start to think of legacy, and if it goes down that well it might be the perfect ending."

The show's cast - this year featuring Trainspotting star Kelly MacDonald - don't know whether the show will be renewed and its future is in the hands of creator, Jed Mercurio.
"What I will say is we won't do [another series] just for the sake of doing it," Martin added.
"We don't know. That's nothing new. Jed will only do it if there's a story to be told."
