Around twenty cops are surrounding the van where a family is understood to be held.
It's believed around two hundred residents are currently on the scene protesting the move.
Chants of "let them go" and "we won't leave until the people are free" can be heard.
Others have shouted: "These are our neighbours."
Glasgow MP Alison Thewliss was among those to condemn the Home Office action, writing: "This is absolutely awful, but heartened to see local residents in Pollokshields standing up for their neighbours and refusing to accept the brutality of the UK Home Office.
