Bongani Zungu is expected to give evidence as part of Slavia Prague’s Ondrej Kudela appeal following his racial abuse of Glen Kamara.
Kudela was slapped with a 10 match ban by UEFA after being found guilty of abusing Kamara, branding him a “f***ing monkey” during awful Europa League scenes.
Zungu, who has since left Rangers to go back to parent club Amiens following his loan spell, was in the vicinity when Czech Kudela cupped his hands around his mouth and spoke with Kamara.
And as part of his defence, the player’s lawyer Rene Cienciala believes Zungu’s original statement contradicts Rangers ace Kamara’s claims.
He said: “We suggested hearing several witnesses and experts for the oral hearing next week. We welcome the opportunity to discuss the matter in a broader context than the written submissions.”
Kudela added: “We believe that our arguments and evidence will finally be heard."
Should the player be granted his appeal it would leave him free to play for Czech Republic against Scotland at Euro 2020.
