EDDIE Howe's proposed move to Celtic is dead in the water after negotiations broke down, according to reports.

The Daily Mail say that the Parkhead club are now in 'advanced talks' with another candidate after missing out on their first choice.

Howe had long been considered the front runner to replace Neil Lennon as first-team manager but talks are believed to have broken down over the former Bournemouth boss' demands for his backroom staff.

The Mail report that the negotiations ended "when Howe was unable to assemble the team he wanted".
