A MAN has died after yesterday's devastating fire at a flat on the South Side.
Emergency services went to the property at around 1.30pm after flames engulfed a top-floor flat on McCulloch Street in Pollokshields yesterday.
The body of the man was found in the property after nearby residents were evacuated from the scene.
Fire crews battled flames for most of yesterday and 15 families have now been displaced
Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have now launched a probe into the fire which is being treated as unexplained.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Around 1.30pm on Tuesday, 1 June, police were called to a fire at a flat in Lincluden Path, McCulloch Street, Glasgow.
"Emergency services attended and residents were evacuated from the building. The body of a man was found within the property.
"The fire is currently being treated as unexplained and a joint investigation between Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is ongoing.”
