POLICE Scotland has warned drivers to be careful when overtaking a cyclist - or they could be slapped with points and a fine.
The force revealed in a tweet today that overtaking a cyclist with less than a car's width is known as a close-pass. They advised that this is a careless driving offence.
The force added that drivers can face three points on their licence and a £100 fine.
