THE director of a new Govanhill cafe has been charged for an alleged breach of the peace following complaints about offensive language in the window of the premises.
Pink Peacock is an LGBTQ+ inclusive cafe set to open in the South Side area that will be a vegan, kosher, halal and alcohol-free, as well as Yiddish-speaking and pay-what-you-can.
But today one of the board of directors has been charged following concerns raised by locals around a tote bag hanging in the window of the Victoria Road location.
It is believed the bag read "F*** the police" and the item has been removed from the window by Police Scotland officers.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police in Glasgow received complaints from the public regarding an item displaying offensive language in the window of premises in the Victoria Road area of Govanhill.
"We can confirm that a 32-year-old man has been charged in connection with a breach of the peace and the item has been removed from the premises."
