A SOUTH side street has been cordoned off by police after an alleged assault.
Police have taped off a cordon around properties on Aikenhead Road with police crime scene tape stretching in to Govanhill Street.
The entrance to the close of one block of flats is also included in the cordon.
Police said an alleged assault took place mid-afternoon with a man now arrested in connection with the incident.
Earlier a police photographer was documenting the scene as officers guarded the cordon.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 2.35pm on Friday, June 18, officers were called to Aikenhead Road in Glasgow, following a report of an assault.
"A 51-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
"He is expected to appear in court on Monday, June 21.”
