A MAN set fire to railway tracks and a nearby fence before boarding a train to Giffnock.
At around 7.45pm on Saturday, May 29, the man approached the far end of the Thorntonhall station platform and set fire to the railway and adjacent fence.
The blaze caused serious damage to private property worth more than £200.
He then boarded the 8.04pm service to Giffnock.
Police say the man is described as a white male in his mid-twenties, of medium build and average height.

He was seen wearing all black clothing with his hood up, carrying a black backpack with a white logo.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to help with their investigation.
