A city centre bank branch has closed for good in Glasgow.
Santander has this week permanently shut the branch in Sauchiehall Street that has been open for decades.
It was previously a branch of Abbey National until the Spanish banking firm took over the company.
It closed its doors for the last time on Thursday, part of a closure programme of 111 branches across the UK
The firm says the nearest branch is now Argyle Street.
It is the latest bank branch to close after a number of other have shut branches across the city.
Glasgow Central SNP MP, Alison Thewliss tweeted about the closure with advice for customers on alternative banking services.
She said "Santander's Sauchiehall Street branch has now closed permanently.
"Alternative banking provision can be accessed through local Post Offices at177 Sauchiehall St 136 West Nile Stand 47 Hope St."
When it announced the closures earleir this year Santander said people were using branches less often.
Adam Bishop, Head of Branches, Santander, said: “Branch usage by customers has fallen considerably over recent years so we have made the difficult decision to consolidate our presence in areas where we have multiple branches relatively close together.
"The majority of the closing branches are within three miles of another branch and the furthest is five miles away.
