THUGS threatened a family with hammers and knives during a shocking break-in at a Glasgow home.
The would-be robbers made off empty-handed but police say the family were shaken by the ambush.

The gang struck at a home in Brent Road, Thornliebank at around 11.30pm last night.
They made off in a dark SUV in the direction of Boydstone Road following the raid.
Police are now on the hunt and are pleading for anyone with information to come forward.
Police Constable Heather Ferry of the Glasgow Robbery Unit said: “Our enquiries into the incident are ongoing and we would urge anyone with information to come forward.

“In particular we would be keen to speak to anyone with dashcam footage or private CCTV or doorbell footage from the area at the time of the incident or afterwards.
“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 3922 of June 30, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
