Drop-in clinics are being opened from Monday across the Glasgow area in a bid to make it easier for people to get the covid jag.

Mobile vaccination units are also being made available for first and second doses of the vaccine.

It is part of the drive to get every adult vaccinated with a first dose and progress second doses for those who have had their first jag more than eight weeks ago.

The programme is open for anyone over 18 for their first dose.

Glasgow Times:

For those wanting a second dose, eight weeks must have passed since they had the first dose.

The drop-in clinics are across the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board area, at different locations on different days.

Humza Yousaf, Health Secretary, said: “Our route out of this pandemic is getting as many people vaccinated as quickly as possible, that is why I am urging people to get jagged in July.

Glasgow Times:

“The vaccination programme continues to progress at pace and, as always, I want to thank everyone involved and all those who have taken up the offer of vaccine.

“As we approach the final stages of the first COVID-19 vaccination programme we are increasing the options available for how and when you choose to be inoculated.

“You can attend one of the drop-in clinics being run in all mainland health boards or pop into a mobile unit. You can also rearrange the location of your appointment online if, for example, it is more convenient for you to be vaccinated closer to your work than home.”

Drop-ins will be open to those aged 30-39 who have not had a first dose of vaccine and, from July 5 onwards, will also be for those who have waited over eight weeks for their second dose of Pfizer vaccine and do not have an appointment booked.
