A MAN will stand trial next year accused of a serious hammer and glass bottle attack.
Garry Bell, 40, allegedly assaulted Alan Dearie in Glasgow’s Cranhill on April 4, this year.
Prosecutors state Bell repeatedly struck Mr Dearie on the head and body with a hammer and glass bottle.

The assault is claimed to have been to Mr Dearie’s severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life.
Bell faces a separate charge of assaulting police officer Gary McFarlane on the same date at Cathcart Police Office.
The charge stated that he spat on the officer causing it to strike him on the body.
Bell faces a final charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

It is alleged Bell shouted, swore, uttered offensive remarks and threats of violence as well as urinating in a police cell.
Bell pleaded not guilty today at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the three charges.
A trial was fixed for February next year by Sheriff Paul Crozier.
