An apparent unexploded World War Two bomb has been found in the city's West End.
The "item of possible ordnance" was found in the River Kelvin earlier today at around 2.45pm.
Eyewitnesses say that the item, believed to be an unexploded bomb dating back to World War Two, was found in the water of the River Kelvin at a bridge in Kelvingrove Park.
Police remain in the area and are currently awaiting the arrival of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of an item of possible ordnance seen in the River Kelvin near Kelvin Way in Glasgow around 2.45pm on Wednesday, 28 July.
“Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) have been contacted to assess the item.”
