A YOUNG man kicked his grandad because he was refused a lift to his mum’s house.

Aaron Brown, 22, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court after previously pleading guilty to the assault on the 77-year-old on April 8 last year.

Prosecutor Ramsay Cunningham said: “At 7pm the accused was within his grandparents’ home in Springboig and was talking about money he owed to his mum.

“His grandmother told him to go speak to his mother about it. He became aggressive and demanded to be taken to his mum’s. His grandfather stated he wasn’t going to take him.

“Due to the accused being unhappy about this, he proceeded to kick his grandfather to both his legs.”

Glasgow Times:

Brown’s grandmother phoned her two daughters, one being Brown’s mum, to attend at the property.

His aunty asked him to leave due to his behaviour, but he went on to kick her too.

The court heard that Brown then left the property and mother followed him.

Mr Cunningham added: “He turned to his mother stating, ‘I’ll smash your windows, I’ll shoot her,’ and that he would come back and smash windows at his grandfathers.

“He thereafter left, and police attended a short time later. He was traced and made no reply to caution and charge.”

Brown's lawyer said his client, who was not long out of prison, would comply with a restriction of liberty order.

Sheriff Paul Brown ordered him to be tagged to his supported accommodation between 7pm-7am for 90 days.
