AN ITALIAN kitchen-brewery is gearing up to open the doors to its new venue in Glasgow's George Square next week.
Doppio Malto will welcome its first customers on Friday, August 13, as it brings its signature Italian brand to the UK for the first time.
The restaurant, popular across Europe for its craft beer and casual-dining, can be found at the former home of Jamie Oliver's Italian in the heart of the city centre.
The food spot will offer an ambitious menu, including an extensive selection of BBQ meats, pizzas, pastas, burgers and homemade desserts - as well as 15 different craft beers.
After the Scottish venue, the brand has its sights set on a Newcastle opening before the end of the year.
The restaurant group's aim is to open 100 restaurants across the UK following its rapid growth in Italy in recent years.

Giovanni Porcu, CEO and founder of Doppio Malto, said: "Next week is a significant milestone for Doppio Malto; our first foray into the UK since we opened our first restaurant in 2016.
"We are incredibly proud to be in a position of growth despite a tough 18 months and we cannot wait to open our doors next week.”
He added: “At the very heart of Doppio Malto is our motto 'un posto felice' - a ‘happy place’.
"Everything is designed around feeling good - from the food and beer to the service and physical space, and we are so excited to bring this unique concept to the UK.”
Doppio Malto will be open seven days a week from Friday, August 13.
