TWO THUGS who carried out a brutal street attack on a man were caught due to mobile phone footage.
Jack Cope, 26, and Michael Berry, 23, pounced on Darren Gray in Union Street, Glasgow on September 21, 2020.
Cope and Berry confronted the 27-year-old before Mr Gray ran off.
Prosecutor Kavin Ryan-Hume told Glasgow Sheriff Court “Both men closely followed and assaulted Gray in the middle of the street.
"He was repeatedly punched on the head and the body.”
The victim tried to flee, but lost his balance and fell.
He was then kicked in the head while he was on the ground.
He did not seek medical attention but suffered a black eye, cut nose and bruising to his arms and body.
Several phone videos captured the incident and police later used this to identify Cope and Berry.
The pair today pleaded guilty to assault to severe injury.
Berry was also accused of stealing a phone on the same date but pleaded not guilty.
Sentencing was deferred until the end of the month.
