JON DAHL TOMASSON hailed his history making Malmo stars as the Swedes dumped Rangers out of the Champions League at Ibrox.
The Allsvenksan title holders produced a remarkable comeback on Tuesday night to clinch a 4-2 aggregate win and set up a play-off round clash with Ludogorets.
Rangers had one foot in the next stage of the competition as Alfredo Morelos levelled the tie early on but the red card for Bonke Innocent didn't knock Tomasson's side off their stride.
And two quickfire goals from Antonio Colak would stun a capacity Ibrox as Rangers saw their Champions League dreams turn into a nightmare.
The defeat leaves Steven Gerrard and his players under huge pressure after losing both legs against Malmo either side of their first Premiership loss in 40 games against Dundee United at the weekend.
But the Swedes were left to savour the occasion and achievement as they moved to within 180 minutes of a place in the group stages this term.
Tomasson said: "We wanted to give our fans at home a special night. We did that.
"We wrote a new chapter in the great history of Malmo against a very good side, against a big club.
"We did, actually, the impossible. We played with ten men for a long time away, in front of these great fans at the stadium and coped with that.
"I am very proud of my team. Everybody in Sweden knows about our spirit, our famous team spirit.
"And I think a lot of teams in Europe know that as well now. The spirit of those boys, I am so proud.
"We did the impossible. Proud of the whole club. It is a big sensation when you knock a team like Rangers out of this tournament.
"I think it is deserved over the two games as well. Scoring four goals.
"I think we showed passion and cold minds. I am extremely proud of the team. We chased the dream."
