A MAN has been left with "serious injuries" after he was assaulted on the M8 during rush hour traffic. 

Police were called to a "disturbance" on the busy motorway near Holytown at around 5.00pm on Tuesday, August 10. 

The 30-year-old man was found by officers "seriously injured" and he was taken to University Hospital Wishaw, although it has since been confirmed that his injuries are not life-threatening.

Police have now issued an appeal for information on the incident, with Detective Inspector David Lamont, of Wishaw CID, stating that the roads were busy at the time of the assault.

said: “Our enquiries into the incident are ongoing and we would urge anyone with information that could assist our investigation to come forward.

“The roads in the area will have been busy at the time so anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious is asked to get in touch. We are particularly interested in speaking with any motorists who were in the area and may have dashcam footage that could assist with our enquiries.
