RESIDENTS of North Glasgow will soon be able to shop at a new outlet store.
Planning permission was submitted to Glasgow City Council asking to erect a Greggs Outlet sign at a vacant unit at 1843 Maryhill Road.
The bakery giant also hoped to install two air conditioning condenser units and two extract grilles at the premises.
Local authority planning officials have now given the go-ahead.
They said that the proposal was considered to be in accordance with the Development Plan and there were no material considerations that outweighed the proposal’s accordance with the Development Plan.
We reported in October that, what was believed to be the first outlet store in Glasgow, opened in Nitshill.

Another outlet store then opened in Parkhead a couple of months later in December.
They sell leftover stock from Greggs stores as well as discontinued items and misshapen products for well below retail price.
Raymond Reynolds, property and business development director at Greggs, said: “Our outlet shops are another great way for Greggs to give back to local communities and reduce wastage.
“Everything sold in our outlet shops is still fresh and delicious and offers fantastic value for money.
“A percentage of the proceeds from outlet shops are donated to charities, so we’re looking forward to opening more of these shops in the coming months so that we can continue to support local communities during these uncertain times.”
