AN APPLICATION planning to turn a former optician into a takeaway has been refused.
The vacant unit at 197 Springburn Way has lain empty for more than a year-and-a-half, after the applicant bought the building in March 2020.
Proposed opening hours were Monday to Sunday from 10am-11.30pm.
But planning bosses said the proposed use of the premises as a hot food takeaway exceeds the 20 per cent limit on the number of units in use as a hot food shop.
