A MAN left his pregnant lover terrified after discovering he was not the father of her child.

Christopher Coyle threatened to drag the woman by the "f*****g hair".

The couple had recently started dating when she discovered she was expecting a baby.

Coyle was told it was not his and he pleaded with her not to have the child.

The 49 year-old then flew into a rage at the flat in Glasgow's Maryhill when the woman refused.

Police were called and he was arrested.

He pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner on October 7 2020.

Michael O’Neil, defending said: “Coyle regrets the conduct against the woman.”

Sheriff Martin Jones QC sentenced him to 12 months in prison.
