THE owners of a restaurant that was destroyed by a severe fire have thanked everyone for the "enormous level" of support.
Thousands of people have sent messages to Trattoria Guidi, known as Guidis, following the huge blaze in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The popular Italian restaurant has been described as a "local institution" and the "pillar" of the Airdrie community.
We told yesterday how the owners shared their devastation but revealed the most important thing - all staff were safe.
Today, bosses have thanked the local community, and beyond.
They wrote: "Carlo would like to sincerely thank everyone for their kind messages, calls and offers of support since the fire.
"We have been truly overwhelmed by the enormous level of support and have really appreciated reading everyone’s messages.
"There have been amazing offers of temporary venues, employment opportunities for staff and one very kind customer has set up a Go Fund Me page (the proceeds from which will go to our staff. Thank you all, we are extremely grateful."

The organiser wrote: "Many of us have fond memories at this beautiful restaurant and due to the recent unfortunate and unforeseen fire to our local restaurant, the staff and owners would certainly appreciate our support to help staff and re-establish this restaurant that’s so close to our hearts."
