ORGANISERS behind Glasgow's Pride March have confirmed that this year's event will return to the city's streets.
The event was cancelled last year due to Covid-19 - a blow to the city's LGBT+ communities as 2020 marked the 50th anniversary of Pride marches.
The Glasgow Times exclusively revealed in June that the festival would be returning for its 51st year, but bosses recently confirmed the parade will take place in person in 2021 for the first time in two years.
The festival will be working alongside Glasgow City Council, Police Scotland and Public Health to ensure the march can go ahead safely in accordance with coronavirus guidelines.
A spokesman for Pride Mardi Gla said: "We fully understand the challenges which have been faced over the past two years due to the pandemic and from this safety is our key and main priority, with enjoyment coming in at a close second.
"All requirements will be in line with local government, Scottish Government and NHS guidance which is detailed for the march in the procession pack.
"If you have any concerns regarding taking part, please do not hesitate to contact us."
The event - which sees thousands march from Kelvingrove Park to George Square - is a vibrant display of the continuing fight for equality across the world.
It will return on September 4.
Pride Mardi Gla marches will also take place in person this year in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
