A CLEARANCE outlet store specialising in the sale of stock from High Street shops looks set to take over the former Dunnes store in Glasgow city centre.

Signs have appeared on the Sauchiehall Street store which once housed the Irish retailer indicating that stock from Oasis, Burton, Topshop, Wallis, Evans, Dorthy Perkins and Miss Selfridge will be sold there.

The Brands Oulet promises to offer up to 80 per cent off the High Street store.

Most of the retailers expected to have stock in the shop were part of the Arcadia group which went into administration last year.

The move comes after we revealed that plans to transform the store into a £12m 112-bed hotel were withdrawn.

Qtel One Ltd had asked Glasgow City Council for permission to convert the old department store.

It had intended to open its first Qtel “budget boutique” hotel, with a café, restaurant and bar.

But the proposal was pulled.
