A PICTURE says 1000 words and after seeing these tantalising images of brunches from hotspots across the cities, we're dying to try them all.
We've whittled down a list of cafes and bistros you can head along to this weekend as voted for by Tripadvisor reviewers and Glasgow Times staff.
1. Scran, 594 Alexandra Parade, Dennistoun, Glasgow G31 3BS
Scran is one of the East End's places to be for brunch and has built a popular fan base on social media. The Dennistoun eatery has a 5* rating on Tripadvisor and according to some reviewers - it's for a good reason. One fan said: "Honestly so obsessed with this place - only been three times and every dish I’ve had so far has been sublime."
Breakfast and brunch lovers can enjoy an extensive menu of poached eggs, brunch buns and Morton's breakfast rolls.
2. Gusto & Relish, 729-731 Pollokshaws Rd, Glasgow G41 2AA
A South Side staple at breakfast time on the weekends, it's not unusual to see queues outside of this wee gem. Serving up a range of classic breakfast foods including this epic looking fry-up, Gusto & Relish also like to put their own spin on things such as salad on their morning rolls. They also do brilliant waffles!
They have five star reviews on Tripadvisor, so it's not one to be missed.
3. Singl-End, 265 Renfrew Street, Glasgow G3 6TT Scotland
One Tripadvisor reviewer described it as the "best brunch I've ever had" and it's easy to see why. Every last item is homemade, even down to the beans. They have a wide range of tasty options including vegan and veggie brunches, french toast and eggs. The Garnethill cafe has become so popular they have opened another branch in the Merchant City.
4. Melton Johns, 1145 Govan Rd, Glasgow G51 4RX
This creatively named eatery caused a storm when it went viral after introducing the concept of a salt and chilli fry up. It sounds like the ultimate hangover cure but it divided opinion on social media. One person demanded that they "stop putting salt and chilli on everything."
The cafe also does an epic looking breakfast burgers. The fare is reasonably priced so it's definitely worth a visit!
5. Partick Duck Club, 27 Hyndland Street, Glasgow G11 5QF
Offering unique fare including a brunch with a duck leg and egg, which one punter said: "blew his mind." The West End bistro is a popular hit in the area and is taking Instagram by storm. Expect fresh sourdough bread and an exciting array of flavourful food.
6. Hamptons Brunch, 9 Kingsheath Ave, Rutherglen, Glasgow G73 2DG
We're dying to try this place after seeing pictures of their strawberry and cream pancake tacos as well as their biscoff croissants. They even have excellent vegan options and come up with their own weird and wonderful creations. There's also an iconic Barrowlands mural too!
7. Hidden Lane Tea Room, 1103 Argyle St, Finnieston, Glasgow G3 8ND
Off the beaten track, The Hidden Lane Tearoom is like travelling back in time with it's vintage crockery and quaint afternoon teas. They even offer a morning tea for £13 per person with savoury brioche, egg muffins and a selection of pastires with jam. It sounds amazing and we can't wait to try it.
