1.  City Centre Mural Trail

Glasgow Times:

Follow the city centre mural trail and see how many you can spot along the way.

Children can enjoy spotting some of the city's best artwork from the Clyde Clock to the Cherub Skill and Chookie Burdies.

Find out more here.

2. Visit the Highland Cows and Pollok Park

Glasgow Times:

Take a trip into the South Side to visit some of Glasgow's favourite Highland coos.

The Scottish Cattle have lived at the park for more than 180 years after they were brought to the city by the Maxwell family.

3. Visit Kelvingrove Museum

Glasgow Times:

The West End's historical treasure will not only be a visual experience for the tots but an educational one, too.

It exhibits art, fossils, dinosaur bones, minerals, furniture and curiosities from around the world.

Tickets must be booked HERE.

4. Walk the Forth & Clyde Canal

Glasgow Times:

The jaunt from Speird Wharf to Maryhill Locks will take you past some of Glasgow's history, including former textile mills, granaries, distilleries and power stations.

The historical canal opened in 1790.

5. Climb the Lighthouse

Glasgow Times:

A lighthouse in the middle of a city, who would believe it?

From the third floor, you can access the viewing tower, which you can reach over a set of stairs – the views are worth it.

The kids can also look at some of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's finest works through current design projects and temporary art exhibitions.

The Lighthouse is situated on Mitchell Lane.

6. Visit the Tall Ship

Glasgow Times:

Take a walk along the River Clyde to see the Tall Ship.

Built in 1896, the former merchant sailing vessel will be 125 years old this year - one of just five remaining Clydebuilt Tall Ships in the world.

Since 2011 it has been open as a museum.

7. Go to the Botanic Gardens

Glasgow Times:

The West End Gardens - which hold a vast range of tropical plants - give off real jungle vibes.

Visitors can enjoy learning all about their geographical regions inside the Victorian glasshouse, Kibble Palace.

And, the kids can enjoy watching the beautiful pondfish of Asia.
