A WOMAN who was raging at police for arresting a topless man set her dog on the cops as she tried to give him her jacket.
PC Lisa McPhail was bitten on the left leg during the incident and suffered bruising to her groin area following the attack orchestrated by Michelle Copeland.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard how cops had been called to Cardonald Cemetery to execute a warrant of a man known to Copeland.
The 44-year-old had been cutting through the cemetery on her way to Paisley Road West on May 26 this year and saw the police.
Depute fiscal Kyle Dalziel told the court Copeland tied up her dog to a fence and went over to speak to officers.
She started shouting at police to leave the man alone and became aggressive.
Mr Dalziel told the court: “She became aggressive towards officers and told them ‘get to f***, I’m done f******** talking to you. I’ll set my dog on you’.
“She then went to kick and bang the police vehicle before shouting ‘I’ll set my dog to attack you’.
"Officers warned her not to let the dog off the lead but she went back and released it.”

The animal ran at Ms McPhail and bit her on her left leg, leaving her needing antibiotics and a tetanus shot.
Her defence brief told the court she is a woman with an "extensive record" and there had been a previous incident involving the same dog.
The lawyer said Copeland has a son with autism and the dog is "good for the son".
But he added: "She realises she is on the precipice of something nasty.
"[A man she knows] was being taken in to custody. He was being arrested for a warrant, which is not unusual.
"He was topless and she thought she would give him the benefit of her jacket."
Copeland, from Bellahouston, pleaded guilty to assault to injury.
Sheriff Allan McKay said: "There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that these charges, especially the dog biting the officer, meet the threshold for custody.”

However, Copeland dodged jail and instead was put on a community payback order to be supervised by social work for one year.
She was given 108 hours of unpaid work and put on a tag for 54 days keeping her at home between 9pm and 6am.
The sheriff also called for a review hearing meaning she will be back before the court in three months.
