A WOMAN allegedly tried to get a man to pay her £5,000 or she would make a rape claim against him.
Ayesha Sajid, 49, attempted to extort the cash from the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in October 2020.
Prosecutors claim she had the intention of menacing the man from a flat in Glasgow’s Hillhead.
The charge claims Sajid put him in a state of fear or alarm and apprehension of being accused of rape and for the purposes of extorting money.
It is alleged she threatened that unless he transferred money into her bank account, she would contact the police and state that the man had raped her.
It is claimed that Sajid induced him to pay £150 and attempted to get him to pay £5,000 by threats.
Sajid, of Nelson, Lancashire, did not appear at a hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
A warrant for her arrest was called for by Sheriff Alan Mackenzie.
